We are specialists in the re-creation of historic automobiles. Our team can also take care of all the routine maintenance and repair work your classic requires.
We also cater for the historic racing enthusiast with race car preparation, fabrication and performance engine building.
It is our aim to provide a personal service, where the people you are dealing with, are the people working on your project. We wish to make your restoration an enjoyable experience for everyone involved and provide you with a classic you can be proud of and enjoy for many years.
Background
Brad began his career as an apprentice mechanic in New Zealand. As an apprentice he built and raced his own Formula Vee, a car which has gone on to win many New Zealand championships.
After immigrating to Australia Brad began working for Mercedes Benz where he earned the title of Mercedes Benz Technician of the Year in 2004. In 2005 Brad joined well known Brisbane Restorer ‘Sleeping Beauties’. During his time at Sleeping Beauties Brad was involved in many fascinating projects – the highlight being the construction of a Mercedes Benz W194 ‘Gullwing’ re-creation.
In 2012 McKernan Restoration was established. Fast forward to now, and we've preserved and restored countless cars, giving them the chance to live another day. We've also been lucky enough to have multiple concours winners leave our shed and have orders placed for our 550 and 910 Porsches, as well as our Ferrari California recreations.
